Busy Weekend for Tyldesley Swimmers

Well what a weekend for TYLDESLEY swimmers.

On Saturday Madeleine Bailey, Jodie Gittins, Rachel Hornby, Daisy Poole were competing at City of Manchester Meet where Rachel achieved Gold on 200m Breast, 4th 200m fly, 4th 200m IM, 6th 800m Free all in Personal Best times. Maddie 3rd  200m Breast, Jodie 4th 50m Free and 6th 100m Free. Daisy achieved PB's in 50m free, 200m IM and 800m Free.

Whilst at the Wigan/Tyldesley gala the club had a number of swimmers competing.  Tom Maher achieved 3rd in the 200m Breast, 7th 50m free, 8th 100m Free; Mai Deef 2nd in the 200m Butterfly; Alex Hornby 8th 50m Free; Lexie Poole 7th 100m Back, Caitlin Davies 10th 50m Breaststroke, Madason Lawley 10th 200m Freestyle, whilst there were PB's from Lucy Andrews-Maguire, Lucy Blenkinship, Ben Appleton, Jenna Binks, Tegan Davies, Phoebe Grogan, Madason Lawley, Rebecca Lee and Isobel Tipple

Sunday was no different with Jodie, Rachel, Madeleine and Daisy once again competing in Manchester when the rest of the swimmers were competing at the Wigan/Tyldesley Meet.

Jodie achieved 2nd place in the 200m Freestyle, Rachel achieved 3rd in the 400m IM; 5th in the 100m Breaststroke and 9th in the 50m Breaststroke all in new Personal Best Times. Madeleine achieved 10th in the 50m Breaststroke and Daisy achieved a Personal Best Time in the 200m Freestyle.

The swimmers who were competing at Wigan continued where they left off from Saturday - Ben Appleton achieved 5th place on the 50m Breaststroke and 10th place on 100m Breaststroke; Alex Hornby achieved 4th place in the 100m Backstroke and 10th place in the 50m Breaststroke; Lexie Poole 6th place in the 200m Backstroke, 10th place in the 100m IM; Samuel Hornby 9th in the 200m IM.

Other swimmers competing on Sunday and who achieved personal best times in all their events were Lucy Andrews-Maguire, Lucy Blenkinship, Caitlin Davies, Phoebe Grogan, Lydia Harrison, Madason Lawley,  Lucy Molyneux and Isobel Tipple.

It has been a hard weekend for all the swimmers but they have achieved and learnt so much from the experience.
